Galentine’s Gift Guide
Growing up, I had a very simple understanding of what it meant to be a best friend. A best friend is someone who also named you as their best friend. In my mind, the feeling had to be mutual.
Now, of course I know friendship is more complicated than that and I’ve certainly had my fair share of ups and downs. But I’ve always enjoyed celebrating friendship, especially on Valentine’s Day. Because who said you can only show love for romantic relationships?
Then, a few years ago, a friend introduced me to Galentine’s Day, which is basically Valentine’s Day for girlfriends. SOLD! I’m all for celebrating fake holidays and this gives me another excuse to shout-out my homies.
If you’re looking for a gift for your favorite Galentines, I have a few suggestions from badass women and woman-owned businesses:
If your bestie is still (im)patiently waiting her turn to read Becoming, do her a favor and get her off the hold list by grabbing a copy of Michelle Obama’s best-selling memoir.
