Inspiration in Unexpected Places

A tropical sunset. A graceful dance. A 140-character tweet. Yes, inspiration–and, for that matter, motivation–can be found in unexpected places, such as Twitter. Yup, that's right, I said Twitter. Earlier today, I came across two tweets I felt really spoke to me and what I'm going through right now. One was from Paul C. Brunson, a self-proclaimed modern day matchmaker and writer for Essence magazine: "He didn't bring you this far to leave you. Hold on." Minutes later, I saw this tweet from actress Tamera Mowry-Housley, "Don't give up now...lean on God's will for your life. God's timing is everything."

Often we find ourselves at the end of our rope–unsure and afraid of what's going to happen next. Or we get impatient and we want it (a new job, a ring, whatever it is) NOW. It's certainly easier to lose faith than it is to keep it. And sometimes we get frustrated and we ask questions (I want that. Why not me?!).

But, like my mom always tells me, God doesn't give you any more than you can handle and what God has in store for you, no one can take it away. Although at times it feels as though He likes to push it a bit, I will make a valiant effort to keep the faith. Because sometimes, that's all you can do.
